Dear Anna,
my cordial thanks to you again!
Now adding few words in response to your item 1. In order to "successfully photograph butterflies", going to places with a cool climate - like high up in the mountains - is definitely making things easier. Those creatures tend to get "lazy" with cool temperatures. On the other hand, at high temperatures butterflies tend to get very speedy with their body liquids turning hot. With self regulatedly warm-blooded beings like mammals, us humans in particular, it seems to be the other way round. We use to get speedier at low temperatures while high temperatures are tending to make us move slowlier - making us "lazy".
You say you just managed to capture three different species during one session: My goodness, I hardly ever do - you are successful!
With all my best wishes to you,
