Right you are on this one. The number of hits on this is (I think) largely due to the external link from Andrew Young's site. Visitors look and are logged, but can't comment because they are not TN members. Nonetheless, I think this occupies a special spot in my TN portfolio. Researching and writing the note certainly helped me understand what was happening, which had confused me for a few years.

As for the scientific journal, my academic history includes such publications. Since the omega sunrise is not a primary research result (i.e. it is understood and already described in the scientific literature), it would be appropriate for a second level digest/summary kind of journal. The ones on the sea smoke vortices may be a different matter- these weird things are not described in any scientific literature I can find. I'm still working my academic connections to see if I can find out more.
