Hi Ahmet.
It is very important to distinguish macro photography and close-up photography and macro lenses and lenses for close-ups.

I think for shooting butterflies and large insects the best choice is (for Canon) Canon 300mm f/4 + Canon TC 1.4x (see Argus's photos), for Nikon - 300mm f/4 + Nikon TC 1.4x. Kenko TC is also great. However, with these lenses you cannot take macro shots (small insects and objects or their parts).

I also like macro mode of Sigma 70-300 f/4-5.6. It is great for butterflies and insect too (magnification ratio 1:2) but it is very cheap and I cannot decide to buy it for expensive camera (for example, for my Nikon D700).

For macro (magnification ratio 1:2 and more) shooting Sigma 150mm f/2.8 Macro and Sigma 180mm f/3.5 Macro are excellent. The are perfect for butterfly shooting too but minimal focusing distance is significantly shorter that telelenses have.

My best wishes. I hope to see your close-ups and macro soon.
Alexei.
