As for the time to be out in the field, i'm afraid it should be really early nowadays...i was out today at 7.30 and i had about half an hour of good time left. After that interval, the damsels started drying off and flying.
So i would suggest you'd get up really early and try be there around 6.30. You'll have plenty of light since the sun already rises way before 6 so it's only of matter of going to bed early and drinking some good coffee :))
