Hi MF! Nice and great to read your observation from the Samos island. It is realy exciting observation. That it realy unusual case to see a hedgehog in daylight while disturbing a snake. May be it is not Natrix since you saw it on road (i think it may be Coin snake, Hemorrhois nummifer or a viper species.
