At directly sunset, the sun's rays came horizontally across the valley to hit these dandelion heads, lighting them up while putting the stems, leaves, etc. below into darkness and shadow. So it was relatively easy to get this shot. I shot straight down and took many photos. I liked the arrangement of these dandelion heads best.
