I need to have a look at the wings. Are they black? I fyou have another photo please e-mail it to me. Rob could be right, some bumble bees has this bright orange, but it can also bee ;)
Carpenter bee (Xylocopa spp.) with top surface of abdomen largely bare and shining, front wing with 2nd submarginal cell triangular, and hind wing with jugal lobe (lobe on rear margin near body).
Who knows, if you have another angle I could do some research.
