Hi Petru,
I am sure this was the idea that gull had, but these beak pouches definetely are a handy feature of pelican bills: as soon as caught the fish also is securely stored away. I would have liked some photos on them quarreling about a fish, but no such luck, any fish the pelican caught was immediately stored away with out a chance to see. Instead I shot a series of the two giving the impression of being the best buddies, which I was also quite happy with.
