For me the bamboos are very exotic. But I know they grow fast. I bought a little pot filled with tiny bamboos some years ago, and now the whole house is filled with pots of bamboos, growing higher and higher. (Not as high as outdoors, of course.) Cheap, if you do not miss something colourful, as a change. So I simply have to buy some expensive orchids, now and then, to get the colours. We have lots of snow today and our own little snow plow, named Cassie....
