SOme time ago I learned a few tricks to ease taking butterfly shots. One of them was given by the owner of a butterfly garden. He told me to come either early in the morning or late in the afternoon. Butterflies are slower than as the evening/night is their restperiod. I experienced that this really works. Of course whenit gets too dark you need a flash.
