| I think this article explains it better than I can, but in a nutshell, it helps to reduce vibrations which can cause blurring, and given I was at maximum zoom on a 300mm lens, any camera shake of any kind could cause blurring and I had noticed that the lens took a while to settle even after I had stood away from the camera, so even the slightest extra vibration removed from the option would help... |
