Owl- almost invisiblecoyote::2004-12-06 13:04
Thanks all for looking and commenting. I had thought, as suggested by Philip Erche, of adding more contrast. I tried many variations, but kept returning to the more natural looking shot. So that's the one I posted. I do think more and different processing is a viable option though.
This was a difficult shot to get, the owl blended so well that with the extender on the camera, it made focusing a hit and miss proposition as to really tack sharp photos. I shot about 250 shots with 3 different cameras, most in RAW format. I am still trying to perfect my RAW workflow techniques- maybe I'll get it in time.
This most probably will be a once in a lifetime event- next time I probably wouldn't even see him.
Again, thanks for viewing and the comments/critiques, they are appreciated.

As an aside, I just saw a small Hawk sitting near where this Owl was/ devouring a rodent, I assume. By the time I got the camera, he had left, darn the luck- LOL.
