This is how we call him in Afrikaans!
Jackals are slightly bigger than a foxterrier, and reminds one a bit of them. They are not "harmless", but I have no fear of them because they are more afraid of me, which is genreally the case with wild animals. I was following him around in the dark trying to get some nice pictures. My wife was with me with the spotlight to get some light on him, because it was pitch dark!
Now I will not do this with Mr Lion or Leopard, those one have a healthy respect for!
