Max. magnification of my Sigma lens is 0.5:1. With teleconverter Kenko 2x I have 1:1 but very nice minimal focus distance (about 1 m). Plus cropping.
Only my combination Minolta 100 mm Macro with this teleconverter give me max. ratio 2:1 (but min. focus distance ~ 20 cm.).
It is difficult to come close to the butterflies, therefore for their shooting I apply Sigma lens.
