Dear Loot,
I believe in the delegation of authority, so while my young and aspiring colleagues toil over paper work and correction of assignments, I get myself plenty of time to keep piling TN with unpalatable stuff in the name of Nature Photography 365x24(chuckle)!
On a serious note, I am truly flattered and obliged by your humorous yet objective appraisal of my work. I also feel deeply honoured by your choice to include my picture of a Grey Hypocolius in your special theme "Rare and significant Contribution".
In the penultimate days of my professional career (I am retiring by the end of this month), I draw a lot of strength from the realisation that by being on TN and interacting with its very intelligent, knowledgeable, experienced, compassionate and humane members like you in the last one year, I have found my fount of joy -- getting connected with what I have always wanted to do in my life.
So I am retiring with a heart bubbly with enthusiasm like that of a teenager, excited about new things I'm going to do in my retired life!
I thank you from the core of my heart for being such a supportive, perceptive, helpful and extremely funny friend from South Africa -- a country I would dream of visiting [especially Kruger Park!] even in the last moments in my life :-).
Best regards,
