Hi Greg

Thanks for the visit and kind comments.

Please view my answer to Goutham Ramesh to find a partial (or supplement) answer to your question. However, as far as the flash is concerned, I have the following to add. Obviously I shoot in manual mode and when I enter the aquarium I set the aperture to f/11 (although I sometimes might go up to f/13, as was the case with this shot) and the shutter speed to 1/200. The flash exposure compensation I would normally set on -2 for starters. This provides me with the optimum settings for the ETTL II abilities on my Canon Speedlite 430EX flash. I try not to shoot any fish that might swim further than 1 metre away from the glass. The only other alteration or adjustment I might make during the shoot is on the flash exposure compensation. I would go -1 or -2 stops more for silver fish because they seem to trick the cameras light meter and then the photos tend to come out too dark.

I hope this answers your question and might prove helpful.

Friendly regards
