No I did'nt have to go that far to the water front. There's a platform build for photographers just beside and above the falls. It's there so people don't disturb the bears whil they are fishing and maybe even more so the bears can't disturb, although they are very relaxed and one does come across 50 to 60 bears a day wich are just taken a look at crazy guys and girls with there camera's, the photographers while takeing shots :)
