First of all thanks for your critique and comment.
Concerning your MarkIII question, I would like to write a 'first impressions' evaluation in general and then forwarding you the link, 'cause I got the question asked several times:-). Unfortunately there's no time for that. If it should happen to be possible, I will give you the link later on.
That said I can refer to my critique replies in which you can read a few probably incoherent thoughts about that camera. I replied Howard a few times for example.
I used the camera let's say three or so full days (from dawn till dusk). So I'm just learning:-).
My former DSLR camera was a 350D. Never worked with a 20D, 30D, 5D or so. So I always compare it to my 350D...:-). At first sight the difference is not so spectacular as one could expect and the reason for that, I believe, is the MarkIII hype. Otherwise it has to be said when I'm busy photographing and change bodies going from a MarkIII to a 350D then I definitely notice the difference.
As you might expect the latter is just much more PRO and truly a performer.
About the autofocus issue...
Yes, I experienced 'bad behaviour' but maybe as aforementioned I consider myself in a learning process.
What I experienced concerning autofocus was more or less the following:
- if the camera does its autoselecting stuff sometimes I do not know why it is selecting the points it is selecting and then you think 'hey, what's happening???'
- secondly the camera is fast, very fast...you just feel the 2 CPU's.
I have the experience though the focussing system can't really anticipate and thus generating unsharp images.
Keep in mind these are just a few unverified random thoughts...
- Finally concerning the autofocus it should be great if one could know Canon's idea about the autofocussing; I mean their vision, the idea behind it so that the customer 'knows' it and supply guidance as well.
Hope New Zealand gets its Canon's soon...
Here things were postponed a few times and I believe they are still arriving in packages...
About my too heavy and too pricey lens: I just love her!:-)
Kind regards,
