| Hi - thanks for your visit - however, the photo is not unsharp - it's BLURRY. It's a frame of a 15 frame sequence, hand-held at an effective focal length of 480mm. I also cropped it more than a bit, as the bird was a distance of probably 100 meters. No other frame in the sequence (although some were technically slightly better) showed the beauty of those cuved wingtips nearly skimming the water's surface. Their behavior is to fly like this, barely a few inches above the water, for a couple of hundred meters as they glide between groups. I guess I should have written this in my comments. If you'd like, please visit the exact location (in Google Earth) where the photo was taken - 49 degrees, 41 minutes, nine point 22 seconds north Latitude - 121 degrees, 51 minutes, 23 point 28 seconds west Longitude. (Lethbridge, Alberta) Hope to hear from you again! Bob P.S. the original does print a nice 11x14 with some unsharp mask application - about .3 pixels at 402 in Photoshop. |
