Thanks for your kind words.
The poppy is indeed the traditional flower for Remembrance Day. But since that is used to commemorate the war dead of Canada and the UK, I wanted to do something special for those who died in the service of other countries. My mother's only brother, for example, had no choice when he was conscripted by his country's government. He lies somewhere underneath the cold waters of the North Sea.
I guess you can understand why I dreaded Remembrance Day.
