In the 60's Yonge Street went as far as it does now -- it just keeps on going and going north to Barrie (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yonge_Street)
But in the 60's there was no development past Steeles and very little between Finch (the first street south of that) and Steeles. Now you can drive north on Yonge in heavy traffic until past Richmond Hill before you start seeing a bit of open land again.
And the neighbourhood of Sheppard and Yonge that was then just two storey houses is now filled in with huge highrises.
The differences are shocking!
Do you remember the Royal Ontario Museum?
Here is how it looks now: http://www.treklens.com/viewphotos.php?l=3&p=319274
IF you can remember any of the areas you knew back then, I shall take pictures for you of how they look now!
Cheers and TFV
