Thanks Howard, yes, it is a very interesting project, and apparently is working well. There are soft pads and cameras all around the place that will show if a mouse, etc walks on them, but they think there's maybe still one small mouse in the area, but all other mammals are out... And the bird chorus is begining to sing again.
And a kiwi chick has been hatched too - so they are all very happy with is.
And no, that's not the famous Christmas tree - it doesn't flower down here in the middle of the country - it's mostly on the coast. I think it is maybe an Australian gum tree. It's so red / orange and I'm suer we don't have natice trees that bright.
