Nature at Arlington National Cemetery (8 photos) 32 views :: Michael Porterfield (mporterf) (417)
Fellow Trekker Danilo Martinez and I visited Arlington National Cemetery on Halloween 2009 to shoot some photos taking advantage of the diffused light provided by the cloudy day.
Many desert or steppe invertebrates are extraordinary creatures with spectacular features which of course does not include their dull color. Unlike many butterflies, Dragonflies and many other popular subjects, these animals only attract a narrow range of photographers. To me, the main reason is their dull coloration. No one can deny the majesty, complexity and harsh beauty of these animals after seeing them in a close up photo and from a naturalist point of view.
