This theme is to collate all the shots of the Fly Agaric Amanita muscaria that have appeared on TN so far. Fly Agaric is easily identifiable by the red cap with little white flecks on it, and is often the "evil mushroom" depicted in fairy tales :)

Purple is my absolute favourite colour. If you posted something purple chances are good that I will find it and come and critique it.

The word Purple originates from the Latin purpura. This in turn comes from the Greek porphura, which described the dye manufactured from the mucus of a marine snail.

The first recorded use of the word purple in English was in the year AD 975.

The standard colour changed over the years, from Tyrian Purple to Electric Purple today.
