Just a simple post today, I took my mother away for an early mother's day present to Windsor. She has a slight obsession with swans and there were certainly plenty at Windsor. I have posted two pictures (one on workshop) one shot shows the beauty and grace of the swan. The second picture is to show another view of the swan :)

Swan/Queen facts from www.royal.gov.uk
Today, the Crown still owns all unmarked mute swans in open water. In practice, The Queen only claims ownership of swans on certain parts of the River Thames and the rivers which run into it. Her special title is "Her Majesty The Queen, Seigneur of the Swans".

The Queen shares ownership of the Thames swans with the Vintners' and Dyers' Companies. These were trade groups of wine merchants and cloth dyers who were given some rights of ownership with the king or queen in the 15th century

I'm not sure what this swan was doing but it was enjoying itself :)
