This Red Shouldered Hawk with its partner has been spotted lately in the neighborhood around the dept. of Earth and Planetary Sciences at the Johns Hopkins University. The pair has been mating and we may have a nest nearby too. It'll be quite exciting to see these birds raise their offspring.

After not looking at the original picture in 3 years , I realized that I had not done any post-processing on this image! So, here is an improved version:
= adjusted levels,
= +5 saturation
= +5 contrast

I have used the gamma correction function in Irfanview to reduce the glare and have increased the colour saturation to offest the 'bleaching' effect of the sun.I have also sharpened the image.
