lenartzala Silver Note Writer [C: 5 W: 0 N: 22] (112)
When I passed one of the six lakes on Tauplitz Alm, a group of young ducks were hiding in the grass and compressing while resting. Their mother moved on the lake not far away.
Mallards are wide spread around the world. They live in Europe, Asia and North America and are found in wetland habitats.
Males are, as within the birds is common, more colorful, with bright green head and bigger than females, juveniles are similar to females.
There are up to 13 eggs in the nest and it takes almost a month before the younsters have been hatched.
