![Gold Star Critiquer/Gold Star Workshop Editor/Gold Note Writer [C: 1168 W: 261 N: 3035]](http://i1.treknature.com/misc/g-g-g.gif) (13835) | Today a surprise when we approache Napels,a few miles of Napels inthe bay I spotted this whale,maybe not one of the best shots of a whale,but for me as sailor for quite someyears now the first one I spotted in the mediterenean sea and this close to Napels,at the moment we are anchored and will enter port tomorrow early am,another fenomen you notice when you approach Napels is the vulcane mount vesuvius,I suppose well known to all of you with its destroyed city pompei,at the moment we approached there were quite some planes extinquishing the fires (see picture in ws)on the flank of this mountain,I suppose this has something to do with the heat of last weeks which caused lots of fires in these areas,but I am not shore.I made some nice shots of this mountain,even the fires are noticeble,however dont know if posting is appropiate as the building alongside the coast are visible as well,anyway I hope you like my first mediteranean whale,it is cropped about 50% and sharpened before upload,the picture is taken hanheld from a vessel,hope you like it and
