Swiftcurrent Lake and Grinnell peak (16)

I'm just back from our annual family trip to Glacier National Park. This is a shot from the Swiftcurrent nature trail that circles the lake near the Many Glacier Hotel. The main peak in the background is Swiftcurrent mountain. I am still trying to play with fg with this UWA lens, in this case the reeds in the lake.

As I was packing I could only find one battery, so I stuffed that in my camera case. For some reason I didn't think to pack my charger. But after shooting some flash-filled shots of the kids I noticed the battery was almost drained, and I had 2 fulls days of vacation left! So I immediately turned off my LCD. Then each time the battery pooped out, I would take the battery out of the camera, and warm it my hand to get a couple more shots. Somehow I managed to nurse it through 2 days like that. (Just in case you ever find yourself in similar circumstances). But I ended up with a couple really stupid exposure settings, like after taking an evening shot, I left the ISO at 800. I usally review those after every shot.

PP: A contrast adjustment, a slight rotation (to level the horizon), a resize, frame, and USM.

I felt that the dark shadowy trees on the left grabbed a bit too much attention. I cropped some of them out along with some of the foreground shadow. I think the nice sunlit grasses make a more interesting foreground element . I brought out a little detail in the tree shadows.
