 Storm over Upolu (34) mjdundee
(1201) | November is the beginning of the rainy season in the South Pacific. Weather conditions change rapidly from clear blue skies to heavy clouds with isolated showers. Where clouds meet the islands - this picture is taken on Savaii and you can see the shape of the main island Upolu on the horizon - clouds start rising over hot grounds and form spectacular sceneries. Tropical cyclones are very common in this part of the world and develop immense power of destruction.
Their traces can be found everywhere. Empty villages, forests with broken tree giants etc. A Circular Polarisation filter takes all reflections and reveals the colours and contrast. It is a great tool for taking sea and/or clouds photographs. |
