This photo was taken during our wildlife safari near Aviemore. We arrived real early at Loch Garten enjoying the stunning morning light and foggy conditions. While stolling along the lake I was atracked to the water lilies and was able to capture them perfectly with the 400mm lens. The lack of bright light and color has given this photo a monotone look that almost makes the photo feel black and white.

For those wondering about the title. The German word for Garden is Garten.

BTW, it looks like the busy time is past and I can finally return to my passion.

I think that the ultra white frame on the original, being that it contrasts so starkly with the dark image, visually comes forward and therefore pushes the image/lilies back. I think a more neutral frame recedes visually allowing the lighter lilies to come forward and "take center stage" so to speak : )
