Antartica in January 1993. Starting in Punta Arena we cross the Cape Horn. We had bad weather condition so everybody was happy to reach the peninsula of Antartica. We had a stop at this beautiful Paradies Bay. It was a long way to climb up this mountain ti shot this picture.

I removed some of the noise and changed the frame. I think the dark frame feels less constraining. The image visually feels more open... even wider... though it isn't. Now the area of greatest contrast is the small ice floe focal point in foreground and the mountains against the light sky and sea. I think the viewer's eye will go to the focal point and then across the bay to the sea beyond. It even points us in that direction. In the original the highest contrast area is along the bottom edge... not the place you want the viewer to get stuck. : )
