This is the view looking south towards Punakaiki from the point where the Truman Track reaches the top of the sea cliffs.
I've posted a couple of shots before of this weathered sandstone bank. It changes so much in different light conditions that every photo I take of it captures a completely different mood.
I guess that can apply to anywhere though.
The coastline around here has so many different types of rock that no two coves are the same. One might be light coloured jagged rocks, and the next shiny smooth black ones. Most of the beaches around here have colourful pebbles with lots of rose quartz and sparkling mica, mixed with bright orange speckled limestone.
It is certainly a fascinating geological area to visit ... and photograph.

Hope you like the shot.
Thanks for looking.
Cheers
Steve
