Common Chiffchaff (Phylloscopus collybita), is a common and widespread leaf warbler. It breeds in open woodlands throughout northern and temperate Europe and Asia. It is a migrant, which winters in southern and western Europe, southern Asia and north Africa.
This is the only leaf warbler's species, which spend all the winter in Israel and not only pass to southern lands.
It is a small insectivorous bird, named for its simple chiff-chaff song. I found this individual in the University Botanical Garden, jumping from the trunk and branches to the air, after tiny flying insects, and revert, again and again.
