I have to explain the title. Sidewalk butterfly. I spent 4 days in Buenos Aires. During that time I have seen many specimens of J. g. hilaris mostly sitting on sidewalks, walls of buildings and flying all over the city. If you wan to see the habitat :-) click here.

Larva on Stachytarpheta (Verbenaceae), Ruellia tuberosa and Blechum (Acanthaceae

Florida, and from Central America to the north of South America.
