Vanellus spinosus from TRNC for Bayram (36) rousettus
(7459) | Vanellus spinosus (Linnaeus, 1758) - Mahmuzlu Kızkuşu [TR], Spur-winged Plover [EN] is a member of the family Charadriidae. Its name "spinosus" orignated from a spur (a small claw) hidden on anterior edge of each wing. It is similar other lapwing, but unmistakable species among them. It is breeding migratory species in South and Western Turkiye. But it passage visitor in the southernmost coast and Cyprus.
The photograph was taken in Ayluga Wetland near Gazimağusa City in TRNC, Bayram (boreocypriensis)'s hometown. I posted previously shots of Egretta garzetta - Küçük Ak Balıkçıl (Little Egret) and Tachybaptus ruficollis - Küçük Batağan veya Yumurtapiçi (Little Grebe) from same wetland. The bird was far away about 15 m.
This shot was taken on hand bird in distance about 15 m, and also was cropped hardly. Sorry for noisy BG and I try to decrease noisy by PhotoScape and I added as Workshop.
Best wishes all of you.
