This is Cyrtopodion (Mediodactylus) kotschyi fitzingeri (Fitzinger’s Gecko). I saw when we searched endemic Cypriotic Spiny Mouse - Acomys nesiotes near Buffavento Castle [Kalesi] in Beşparmak Mts of TRNC. It comoufled near nest of large ants (you can see ants in workshop).
Sorry for unsharpness and bad focus. I took these small animals with a zoom of 100-400 mm. I'd like to share hunting scene and also perhaps it may supply to its feeding biology.
I identified its species, even subspecies, after Dr. Bayram Göçmen (boreocypriensis)'s post (1, 2).
Animal systematics or modern classification started by Linnaeus [Linné]'s "Sytema Nature" in 1758. The year 2008 is 250th anniversary year. Scientists have searched all species and we can still find many new species which undescribed previously. Thousands zoologists and/or systematic biologists make numerous contributions to our knowledge.
This post is for my teachers and colleagues, Professor Abidin Budak, Emeritus Professor Mehmet K. Atatür (matatur) and Professor Bayram Göçmen (boreocypriensis), Professor Hüseyin Arıkan and other lecturers who are made valuable contribution to our science and generously teach and share their knowledge to thosands students as like me.

I dont know species name of these large ants (Hymenoptera: Formicidae). But the gecko enjoyed to eat them.
