I really need to get a longer lens, and I would love your suggestions on what would be the best one to get as I really would love to get a better photo of these beautiful swans. This photo I took was with my 200mm I did use my tripod as I knew I needed the best chance possiable to not shake, but still these guys were too far away so did some cropping to get them a part of the photo. There were about 50 of them out there nappign in front of my house the other night, I love hearing them when I go out to walk my dogs before I go to bed. I hear the ice cracking as it is pushed on the shore and the sounds of the swans in their constant conversations. When I got up in the morning they were all asleep then slowly one by one they started to stir and swim off for their day of fishing:o)

So I posted this for two things, one because I think they are beautiful and wanted to share them with you and two because I would love your ideas on a good telephoto lens. Thanks!

Donna :o)

UPDATE: I figured after Bobs workshop that I should actually post my original photo, which was taken with my 200mm lens full zoom, as you can see I've done alot to the photo to get it where it is, to start with cropping to bring the beautiful birds up as close as I could without loosing some detail, unfortuanlty I don't remember the steps or how much I did what but I increased the brightness, contrasts, saturation, then bumped up the clairty and sharpness, removed the noise, resized for posting and sharpened it again.
Its not perfect but if you look at the workshop you'll see what I had to work with.:o)
