Late afternoon, and a pleasant walk through lush vegetation from Taormina down to Letojanni beach. Cool weather with sunny spots and a few showers of rain. Tempo di Marzo in Sicily.

Genus: Allium
Three-cornered leek, angled onion, onion weed, three-cornered garlic, Glöcken-Lauch. A spicy herb of the western Mediterranean, in blossom from December to May, preferring the shadow and humidity of canyons.

Wingspan: 30 – 32mm
North Africa, Europe, temperate Asia. Widespread through the palaearctic region from Northwest Africa through the southern parts of Europe into temperate Asia, Glaucopsyche alexis is missing in Portugal, western Spain, Britain, northern Germany, Denmark, the Baltic, northern Scandinavia. There is one generation each year, typically from April to June. Caterpillars feed on various Fabaceae (Astragalus, Vicia, Coronilla, Medicago).
The location: Sentiero Bove Marino, a steep path leading down from a natural platform through the dense vegetation of the shadowy northern slopes of limestone rocks at the coast near Taormina.

The location: A natural platform covered with fresh blossoms of calendula, oxalis, fenicula, vicia, on limestone rocks overlooking Letojanni beach, near Taormina, Catania, Sicily.
