 beaver's dams (6) amcolli
(402) | hello TN friends, i have been out of the country for sometime but unfortunately not on a wildlife search
so no new material available just yet
although brought over form canada in the hope to support the fur trade and create work and be a resource, beavers have turned out to be quite a problem once removed from the original canadian setting into the much colder austral lands
in fact not only was their fur unsuitable for the fur business as it became harsh and unpleasant, but their dam bilding changed the landscape considerably, re routing rivers and flooding land where it was not wanted , creating quiet an issue to the enovironment, to the point of considering them almost like a pest. Here is such a small dam in the parque national del la tierra del fuego - |
