 Dovesfoot Cranebill (24) gerbilratz
(3110) | Dovesfoot Cranebill. Geranium molle.
I hope this is a Dovesfoot Cranesbill! this particular plant has caused me considerable trouble to image, it was very difficult to get to, and very awkward to get the camera set-up to photograph it. It is growing under a spiny gorse bush, by the side of a road, about half a metre from the carriageway. It was also very windy and the light was poor.. still, these things were sent to try us!!
This tiny flower is about 6mm across, rather insipid pink/purple, but the leaves and surrounding flora was "hard" green, not very forgiving. I had tried flash, but it was too harsh and the colours just looked unnatural, so "natural" light was used.
This image has not turned out as good as I had hoped for, the colours were the main problem, to get the detail I wanted, the colours just seemed to "wash out" resulting in a flat pale image, to keep the colouration natural, has resulted in poorer focus and detail.
I have several versions of this, all with different settings etc,and all are lacking something!!
The fine line has not been drawn!! still, can't win them all!!! must try harder next time!!!
I hope to get a better version of this plant soon, hopefully to a better standard..
I am a bit disappointed with this, but, I will get it perfect next time!!!
Oh, just had another good look at the original version, and I can see where I went wrong....... |

Hello Howard,
Using Photo Shop Elements:
selected duplicate layer,
added soft light at 32%,
used unsharp mask
The soft light improves the depth of colour.
I hope you like it.
Kind regards,
Bev :-) |
