Today's upload I dedicate to Art Roberts who is TN user Art_R and has been very prolific since joining. On the day I first met Art he was out taking photos in an area of High River that I like very much for the quiet and variety of wildlife.I was of course happy to see another person doing the same as me and so I told him about TrekNature and on that very same day,Art made his first upload. This photo is for you Art. Taken in the same place as your upload of today I have this photo of a black red fox playing with the more common red coloured fox. These little animals sure have a great amount of energy and for their size can be a bit rough on each other, however none of them really hurt each other. The black kit is the very first of this colour variation I have ever seen and believe me I was thrilled at the chance to get photos of this family. In all I saw one adult and 11 kits and it appears that all of the foxes are made up of two separate families living only 80 feet or so apart. I have another shot of these two photoed at the entrance of the larger of the two dens in the workshop. This year is the third year that there have been fox families on the property and I hope they all make safe and sound into their adulthood . I plan on looking in on them once or twice a week to see how they are all getting along.I think that these kits are 1-1.5 months old now and by July will be into night hunting and will not be so visible.I did see those little mergansers but the light was getting difficult so my shots were a little to grainy.PP was done using Paint.Net.
