 Heath Spotted-orchid (26) SunToucher
(9074) | As mentioned in my last post, I would either visit a new landscape area or go Orchid hunting. The decision depended fully on a change in the weather. The result is seen here the reason was a compleet grey sky. Which is ofcourse not suited for a landscape photo, but perfect for a flower photo since the light is nicely filtered.
This is a little family of Heath Spotted-orchids (Dactylorhiza maculata subsp. maculata) which grew a bit early compared to the large number non-flowering family member surrounding it. The fact that so many still weren't flowering, allows me to return within a few weeks and come back with maybe a landscape version. This is something that's on my storyboard.
I am not completely happy with this photo. I am still strugling to pre-visualize the result when I'm in the field, but I think that a few other practise shots did get me closer to the result I am after. I think it has to do with more distance, a slightly higher angle and some out of focus foreground elements.
I do however hope that you like what I have come up with so far. |
