The weather has been poo and Work's been busy, so here's a shot from a couple of weeks ago. I apologise for the OE on the bluebell, but I do like this shot.
I was out with the good lady, for a nice stroll around Christmas common in Oxfordshire.
I saw this Bumble bee buzzing happily around, enjoying the delights on offer. I got a couple of fairly good shots, as I stumbled through the wood following the bee, like a child chasing an ice cream van!!. I didn't get as far as the gingerbread house, so came back to the path with just a few minor cuts!
As I say, not technically great, but I got the bee.
I've posted a workshop showing the bluebell wood, which looks stunning at this time of year.

I've decided to include some notes on this busy bee.

Bombus Lapidarius.
This large but relatively slender bee can be distinguished from most other British bumble-bees from its long jet black coat and bright red rear. The black pollen baskets separate this species from the Bombus Ruderarius, in which the baskets are red.
This bee can be found in mainly lowland areas, inhabiting gardens and open country, where it commonly nests under large stones.

Thanks for looking
