 Rock'n'Colour (42) NinaM
(4981) | I have been very impressed by the fantastic colours of the rocks all along the shores of the Ile Verte. I couldn't help but take pictures and lot of abstracts of those beautiful rocks looking as though they have been painted... in a way they have.
I have been searching for hours to get information on the geological formation in the St.Lawrence River. All I could gather was that the north coast of the river is formed by the Canadian Shield and the south shore by the Appalachian. Otherwise, I could get information through Ontario government but not much in Quebec.
I found some very interesting information on the history of the St.Lawrence, at that site: http://www.thecanadianencyclopedia.com/index.cfm?PgNm=TCE&Params=A1SEC827587
What remains in my heart is the beauty of such colours. They reminded me of my visit at the Biodom in Montreal, there is this huge aquarium and you can visit a reconstitution of the bottom bed of the St.Lawrence River. The colours are the same as the ones I saw in Ile Verte.
I hope you enjoy this sight. Thank you!
