Flies on Water Lily (Nymphaea alba)

When I captured this Water Lily by the edge of a lake the other day I knew it wouldn’t come out too good as the water was very dark and it was far out. However, later when I opened it on my computer I found four little peculiar white-faced flies resting on one of the petals! Ivan and I have tried to find out the ID of these flies but have not succeeded! I’m therefore calling on MARIKI or MEYERD for help! I’d guess you’re the most knowledgeable persons on TN as regards these insects and perhaps you’ll help us solve this mystery. I believe the flies inside the flower belong to the Dolychopus family.

This was captured with my G7 from a distance of about 6 metres with the camera handheld. It has been cropped and sharpened.

Not a very sharp one but it might help for identifying.
