Hello,

A few days ago my great Friend Steve Reekie (Lord Potty) uploaded a wonderful fungi night shot. I feel I'd like to experiment with the very same - although the 2 shots are different from each other.

On my last trip a couple of days ago I photographed 15 fungi species. Here's one of them: Bolbitius vitellinus, which is quite common here these months, and by my opinion a very photogenic specie when young. As You can see, this group was growing just on the roadside!

Usually I don't like photographing mushrooms with flash, but this time I felt it worth a try. Shot was taken late afternoon, and all my pics in flash off mode became full of blown out patches on the sky. Except for one, which I upload as workshop - You can decide which version is the better (although I didn't post-process the WS photo at all except for re-sizing). Camera settings before shot: full auto mode except for manual white balance.

I dedicate this image to Steve (Lord Potty), with the hope he will have good luck with his just-bought new macro lens.

Similar scene without flash.
