Hello Everyone,

Today, I am posting a shot of a house sparrow which I caught having a tasty feed in the garden.

Here is some worrying information from the RSPB:
Latin name
Passer domesticus

Family
Sparrows (Passeridae)

Overview
Noisy and gregarious, these cheerful exploiters of man's rubbish and wastefulness, have even managed to colonise most of the world. The ultimate opportunist perhaps, but now struggling to survive in the UK along with many other once common birds. They are clearly declining in both gardens and the wider countryside and their recent declines have earned them a place on the Red List.

Although I definitely observed a big decline in their numbers visiting our garden in the last few years, happily, their numbers seem to have increased again. This year, they are definitely the most common bird that is visiting.

I am going to put a photograph in my workshop of the loving care of these birds. I'm afraid it isn't the best quality, that is why I'm not posting it for comment but it is still one of my very favourite photographs!

Many thanks for stopping by.
I hope you enjoyed it.
Please feel free to offer me feedback on any aspect of the photographs.
Bev :-)

This was so tender!
I watched the adult collect food from the feeder and then patiently feed this demanding youngster for several minutes!
