Possible Black-Capped Chickadee? (18)

Is this bird identified correctly? I've never seen one before, and as luck would have it, he was in the shade, but also, the sun was shining brightly right beside him. An unusual combination to work with!

This bird seemed rather friendly. We were eating lunch outdoors when he showed up on a tree several feet away. He watched us, then walked up the tree much like a nuthatch - but I couldn't find this combination in my guide book. Am I correct in my understanding that chickadees share that trait with the nuthatch? I know, I know, I'm asking a lot of questions, but what better way to learn? Most of you are far more aware of birds, their habitats, and their habits than I am; that's excellent for me because unlike the universities, I get to learn here free of charge! :)

This bird did do something I have never seen before, he seemed to want to play peek-a-boo with us. Once noticed, he'd hide behind a branch, but if ignored, he'd come out again. Twice he came out, interested in my camera, but when I picked it up and aimed, he'd duck under the branch so quick, that twice I missed the action. If a bird was ever a ham, this fellow qualifies. When we left, I think he pouted, but then, that could be my perception.

Hi Kathy,

All I've done in the workshop is to run the image though "Neat Image" just to reduce some of the digital noise in the background, hope you don't mind, I have deleted the original from my Pc.
