 Young Flicker (18) tuslaw
(2217) | Took this shot of a young flicker while on vacation last week at Chatauqua lake in western New York. There were at least two young in the nest, they would pop out every few minutes and call for mom for food.
When one of the parents would finally arrive it sounded like one big free for all, as the babies would loudly proclaim to everyone that they were starved.
I could never get a shot of the adults because they stayed clear until I was well out of good camera range. I did manage to wait the young out, and capture a few fleeting images. |
